Welcome to the Marketing Management programme at Cphbusiness Lyngby
We are pleased to welcome you on Monday 28 august 2017 kl. 8:30 a.m. at:
2800 Kgs. Lyngby
We are looking very much forward to meeting you and introduce you to a new approach of learning. Most of you will from your previous education be used to reading, listening to theory, making written assignments and getting a grade. This is not how we work at the Marketing Management Programme.
We do not see you as pupils, rather we see you as full-time students. That means we expect you to consider yourself responsible for your own learning. You are going to work with finding solutions to practical issues, some from the real world (we work closely together with a number of companies), some case-based. Sometimes you need to find the theory required to solve the issue, other times we guide you on the route. One of our previous student has described this journey as follows;
- The fact that we get a number of bricks and then have to build the house ourselves means that we really learn something. Especially because we always have a case related to the topic or a company that we need to interview.
You will be working with a number of theories and models but all the time focusing on the practical application. We are also challenging your creativity – you may work with making videos, presentations, exhibitions, posters etc.
Most of your work takes place in study groups. Sometimes we form the groups and sometimes you form them yourselves. We focus a lot on this because the ability to work together with other people is a competence worth mastering – especially as many companies work project oriented today. In addition, some of your tasks will be handled in multi-cultural teams involving the Danish class as well.
We promise you will be challenged – and we promise that we will work hard to ensure that you find it inspirational, instructive and fun to be part of the Marketing Management education.
Based on feedback from previous years’ students there will not be an Intro Camp. Instead the first two weeks will be filled with activities arranged by both teachers and the Student organisation, where we will do all we can to facilitate good social relations in your class.
Information about the intro weeks
On the first day you will be given a programme for the introduction. You will also get access to your schedule for the entire semester, your student email and to our leaning platform – so do bring your computer. Of course you will also be informed about the study programme – and how it is to be a student at Cphbusiness.
During the first weeks there will be activities every day. So count on being at school from 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. every day. You are expected to bring your computer to all learning activities.
During the introduction days you will get a chance to get to know your fellow students and your team of lectures. The team consists of five lectures, whom you will meet continuously. You can see our names below – and learn more at Cphbusiness.dk under “find employee”.
During the intro weeks you will visit one of our photo booths and have your picture taken for a student card.
