Libraries

Cphbusiness has libraries located in the City (Landemærket) and in Lyngby (Nørgaardsvej).

Library City contains literature and material for all courses (except IT and Sport Management) and also supports departments in Nansensgade and Blågårdsgade – these locations does not have a library of their own.

Library Lyngby contains mainly literature and material for IT students, but also smaller collections of literature about innovation, entrepreneurship, economy, finance, sports-, market- and service management.

You can search for books and main reports at library catalogs.

  • Libraries

    To be allowed to borrow material from our libraries, you must have a valid student card (or other valid identification card).

    Library at Cphbusiness City: You can renew and reserve books directly in the library’s catalog once you are registered at the library.

    Library at Cphbusiness Lyngby: You can renew or reserve books by sending an e-mail to the library - see under contact. 

    If we do not have the material you are looking for, you can search at CBS’ (Copenhagen Business School) and DTU’s (Danish Technical University) catalogs.

    Bibliotek.dk is a catalog of books etc. from all Danish public and research libraries. You can search and reserve books there when you have your “personal registration number”  (Cpr-number)  and “sygesikringsbevis”. (Yellow security card). Your local library will provide you with a password to be able to access these services.

  • Databases a-z

    You can search information in databases and article databases (look further down). 

    Some databases might require a password - they can be found on Moodle or on Fronter, at library room.

    Other databases can be accessed through the school network (SN). If you want to access them from home, you need to log on through remote desktop connection.

    Some databases can also be accessed by Wayf connection both at school and home. You have to use your user id and password to school network (SN) for these.

    You can search here for information by subject. We refer to all types of information: e-books, online information and articles.

    You can read more detailed information about databases contents, how to access them and what language they are using.

    Some databases might require a password - they can be found on Moodle or on Fronter.

    • Markeds- og brancheinformation fra Eksportrådet 
      Information about foreign countries markets - made by The Danish Trade Council. In Danish and English, free access.

    • Themis med Synopsis

    • Thomson online (Karnov, UfR og FED) 
      Karnov has all Danish laws with comments. Ugeskrift for Retsvæsen UfR contains all verdicts published since 1950, plus all articles from UfR since 1988.
      FED (Insurance and Compensation Domssamling), contains decisions in full text from Maritime and Commercial Court, Supreme Court, the Insurance Appeals Board (selected rulings from in 1974 -), a victim of violence Board (selected rulings in 1996 -), the Supreme Court (currently displayed in FED by High Court judgment plus reference to UfR, plus opinions fromForsikring og Pension.     You can search for them at both libraries' catalogs or go directly to Moodle or to Fronter.

    We have the main reports both in paper- and digital version. The latest have degree of 10 or 12 and are not confidential.

    Digital reports can by find on Fronter in “Opgavebiblioteket”. They are in a system by “department”, “year” and “education” etc.

  • Rules

    Students and employees at Cphbusiness are allowed to borrow material at the library.

    Most of the material is available for loan:

    • Books & scripts: 1 month
    • Magazines: 1 week
    • Reports, cameras, etc.: 3 days

    Loans can be renewed - only if not reserved by another user.

    If you borrow in Library City, you can renew your loans online, once you are registered at the library.

    If you wish to renew loans in Library Lyngby, please e-mail to the library, see contact information.

    To be eligible to borrow, users must have a valid student card from Business Academy or other valid identification card.

    The borrower has the sole responsibility for the borrowed material. The material must be returned undamaged before the end of the borrowing period. Lost or damaged material must be fully compensated - with the addition of an administration fee.

    By the end of the education the student must return the borrowed material immediately. It is important that the student contacts the library immediately upon receipt of a reminder. The first and second reminders are sent as an e-mail. The third reminder is sent as a letter. If the students do not contact the library after receiving the third reminder, our finance department might be involved in the case.

    * Cameras, camcorders etc. are only available in Library Lyngby – and only for IT – students.

  • FAQ

    Q: Where can I find passwords for databases?
    A: Passwords can be found at libraries room on Moodle or on Fronter, where we have a website with internal information.

    Q: How do I login on Moodle or on Fronter?
    A: You have to use the username and password you were given by our school. We call these - password to school network. If you do not have one, you can get it at the reception from our secretaries - otherwise ask our IT department for help.

    Q: How can I access databases from home?
    A: See Databases A-Z, there are written details on how to access each of them. It can be by remote desktop connection, Wayf or through passwords, which you can find on Moodle or on Fronter.

    Q: Where can I find the main reports?

    A: You are welcome to come to both libraries and we will help you. You are also welcome to call / email to us, than we can guide you over the phone / mail. You are also welcome to contact the IT department by mail helpdesk@cphbusiness.dk or phone: (+45) 36 15 45 20.

    Q: How does Wayf work?
    A: Wayf is a new connection possibility. You have to use the same user ID and password that you use at schools network. Sometimes you must choose our school, before they ask you for your identity.

    Q: Where can I find the libraries?
    A: Library City is in room 405, 4th floor at Landemærket 11.
    A: Library Lyngby is in room 12.2, 2nd floor behind the Open Learning facilities at Nørgaardsvej 30.

    Q: Where can I find my book lists?
    A: The lists are available at the Polytechnic bookstore.

    Q: How long can you borrow books, magazines, cameras and main reports?
    A: You can borrow books and magazines one month, the main reports 1 week and AV materials (Lyngby) for 3 days. Erasmus exchange students can borrow books for one semester.

    Q: Are there libraries in Nansensgade and Blågårdsgade?
    A: No, but students can use the library at Landemaerket.

    Q: How many working places are there at libraries?
    A: Library City has approximately eight working places at small tables. But there are Open Learning facilities outside the library.
    A: Library Lyngby has to-three working places and there are Open Learning facilities just in front of the library.

    Q: Can I book a librarian to help with my cases or with main report?
    A: Yes, you can always book an appointment with us by sending an e-mail, see contact information. You are also welcome to drop in or call us.
