Money for a good purpose

Student at Cphbusiness organises races to raise money for war veterans.

07 November 2013

When thousands of people take part in the challenging races organised by Nordic Race they are, at the same time, supporting the association Støt Soldater & Pårørende.

This year, Noric Race raised 25,000 Danish kroner. Jonas Elming, who is co-founder of Nordic Race, a student at Cphbusiness Nørrebro and among the members of the Incubator at Cphbusiness Nørrebro, hopes that next year’s race will be even better.

Along with his co-founders Jonas Elming has been stationed in Afghanistan and all three know of someone who has been injured during their service in the war. And it is exactly these people the association Støt Soldater & Pårørende is trying to help.

The basic idea behind Nordic Race has always been to support injured veterans and their relatives. What started out as a small race just for family, friends and colleagues back in 2012 has quickly grown due to increased popularity. In 2012 there was only one race, but in 2013 there are now three races – one in Copenhagen and two in Aalborg.

Last year Nordic Race raised 10,000 Danish kroner and this year they raised 25,000 Danish kroner.
