The whole world came to Cphbusiness during week 46

Cphbusiness kicked off the first International Week on Monday 9 November.

18 November 2015

The week was dedicated to strengthening the international mindset at Cphbusiness. Each study programme planned their own agenda, resulting in a wide variety of international activities.

For example, Cphbusiness Laboratorie og Miljø worked to improve their students’ technical English, giving them the competences they need to work in an international company that operates across borders and cultures.

A focus on projects and cultures

During the week, the students saw a string of presentations; among others Indian Priyanka Pasupuleti, who works for Mott MacDonald in Great Britain, who talked about how it is like to work on international projects across national borders and about being stationed in another country.

In addition, intercultural expert Richard Gesteland from USA did several talks at all the campuses during the week, educating the students on how to communicate across different cultures.

Landscape gardener Shaun Greetham did a presentation about his company, Unique Landscapes Ltd for the Multimedia Design and Communication programme. Afterwards, the students did case work on how his company could penetrate the Danish’ marked.

23 international guests

In Lyngby, the students of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship programme pitched their business ideas to Vinod Kaushal, a British medicinal entrepreneur and investor. At the Financial Management programme, the students observed a panel debate about the Euro with Martin Lidegaard (MP), professor Finn Østrup from CBS and Kenneth Bergth (MP).

The week was rounded off with a Go Abroad Fair, where 250 students turned up to learn about their possibilities for going abroad for a semester or an internship.

All in all, 23 international guests from Great Britain, France, Colombia, Holland, Lithuania, Hungary, Finland, Germany and USA took part in the activities at the study programmes. Both international companies and partner institutions were represented and also a great number of Danish national guest speakers took part.
