08 April 2022

For the first time ever, the final event will be held as a live event on April 26, 2022, and the five finalists who will compete for the title of Cphbusiness Internship of the Year 2021/2022 have now been found.

The students have all been in internships during the autumn of 2021 or the spring of 2022. It is the students themselves who have nominated their internships for the award, which pays tribute to the great match between intern and internship company.

The internship is a central part of all study programmes at Cphbusiness and plays a major role in tying together the study and the beginning of a career.

  • Amalie Bjerregaard Andersen, miljøteknolog, DGE Miljø- og Ingeniørfirma

    Name: Amalie Bjerregaard Andersen

    Study Proramme: Miljøteknolog

Internship Company: DGE Miljø- og Ingeniørfirma

During her internship, Amalie has had the chance to develop professional skills in a broad range of competencies that she has gained during her studies in environmental technologies, including techniques in sampling earth, air, and water.

The internship at DGE also gave her an opportunity to develop personally, combining the personal and professional aspect and allowing her to work in a manner that suited her best.

The chance to develop both personally and professionally while being able to gain first-hand experience is the reason that Amalie nominated DGE for Cphbusiness Internship of the Year 2021/2022.

  • Frederikke Brandt Eriksen, handelsøkonom, Snevagten

    Name: Frederikke Brandt Eriksen

    Study Proramme: Handelsøkonom

    Internship Company: Snevagten

Frederikke felt as part of the company and not “just” as an intern. She had sales goals and has been part of negotiations, customer meetings and so forth.

She has been allowed to “fail”, so she could learn from the mistakes.

Frederikke has also been part of Operations, tying together sales, finance, and customer experience.

Socially, Frederikke says that she has been part of a fantastic team and a company with a great social atmosphere.

  • Jack Hagedorn Jensen, datamatiker, MeeW

    Name: Jack Hagedorn Jensen

    Study Programme: Datamatiker

    Internship Company: MeeW

Jack has previously worked as an electrician and was used to following a schedule, but at MeeW he really got an idea of how a software developer works. During Jack's time at MeeW he realized that as a software developer, you are responsible for picking your tasks yourself. Jack says that he got more influence on his tasks than he had expected beforehand. The employees at the company were very open and helped Jack in the transition from being a student to being an employee.

MeeW responds that they have been really happy about the internship and that Jack fit very well in the organization. The company strives to have a culture, where there is room for everyone and this is also one of the reasons why Jack has nominated MeeW as the best internship.

The reason why Cphbusiness has chosen to select Jack’s internship for the final is that MeeW has been to build an environment where Jack could define and choose his tasks. Furthermore, MeeW is also very good at helping their interns after they have finished their internship.

  • Simon Bjerre Oksbjerg, financial controller, Abakion

    Name: Simon Bjerre Oksbjerg

    Study Proramme: Financial controller

    Internship Company: Abakion

Simon has experienced growth both personally and professionally during his internship at Abakion.

He had the opportunity to get hands-on experience with the theory he learned as a financial controller student at Cphbusiness and had plenty of opportunities to consult with the CFO, giving Simon insights into cost structures, cost analysis and much more in a medium-sized company.

During the internship, Simon had to deal with mental illness, and he appreciates how Abakion handled this aspect with care and attention while still setting requirements for him as a financial controller and as a part of a team.

  • Therese Selchau, finansøkonom, Handelsbanken Østerbro

    Name: Therese Selchau

    Study Programme: Finansøkonom

    Internship Company: Handelsbanken Østerbro

Therese will continue working at Handelsbanken Østerbro after finishing her internship at the company.

Therese is diagnosed with ADHD, but Handelsbanken Østerbro has been able to take advantage of Therese’s eagerness to learn through a progressive and steep learning curve. She mentions that the social aspect of the internship also has been a success, as the company has been very good at making her feel welcome and included.

The manager of Handelsbanken Østerbro mentions that Therese has done a lot of the work that private advisers are normally doing. For example, she participated in client meetings and made calculations on customers' budgets.

Cphbusiness has selected Therese’s internship for the final because Handelsbanken Østerbro has been able to make a personalized plan for Therese’s internship. This resulted in both parties having a great outcome of the internship, which is the essence of the internship.
